Minor breast differences are normal. Assessment includes volume, base width, inframammary folds, nipple position and the chest wall.
Why asymmetry occurs
Development, chest-wall shape, scoliosis, pregnancy, weight change, ptosis and previous surgery may contribute.
When assessment matters
A new rapid change, lump, discharge or pain requires medical evaluation. Stable aesthetic asymmetry is assessed after development and weight stabilisation.
How it may be corrected
Planning may combine different implants, lifting, reduction or treatment of one side. Perfect mirror symmetry cannot be guaranteed. Options are discussed within breast surgery.
