Implant removal is not one standard operation: planning depends on the capsule, breast tissue, skin and desired volume.
Assessment before surgery
The surgeon evaluates implant integrity and position, tissue thickness, ptosis, asymmetry and imaging when indicated.
Replacement, lift or removal alone
A new implant can restore volume. Stretched skin may require a lift, while fat grafting is useful in selected cases. See revision breast surgery.
Shape after removal
The result depends on original breast volume, implant size, time since augmentation, skin elasticity and pregnancies.
