Both conditions alter the lower breast contour, but their mechanisms and revision plans differ.

Bottoming out

The implant descends below the intended fold, lengthening the lower pole and leaving the nipple visually high.

Double bubble

Two contour lines appear: the original fold and a lower implant contour. Anatomy, pocket design, implant size and tissue quality contribute.

Correction

Fold reconstruction, pocket revision, implant exchange or lifting may be required during revision breast surgery.

Can it be diagnosed immediately?

Early swelling changes contours, so assessment is made over time.

Can a support bra correct it?

It supports recovery but cannot reliably correct established displacement.
