Breast Implant Under the Muscle or Gland: How Placement Is Chosen
18.09.2026
Implant plane is selected according to tissue thickness, breast shape, muscle activity and surgical goals—not fashion.
What matters
Subglandular placement avoids pectoral movement but needs adequate coverage. Submuscular or dual-plane placement adds upper-pole coverage but may cause animation with contraction.
How planning works
Tissues, proportions, previous procedures, expectations and long-term stability are assessed.
When to seek consultation
An individual plan is discussed during consultation. Related service: breast augmentation.
